Jingeri jimbelung, welcome to The Buzz at Yarrabilba.

The Buzz is a welcoming and connecting community hub for the community at Yarrabilba. The centre is a partnership between the Queensland Government, Logan City Council, Brisbane Catholic Education, Lendlease and is proudly managed by the Y Queensland.

The Buzz is a safe, connecting, inclusive, engaging place that enables the community to connect, learn, earn and innovate.

With the local community in mind, the Y brings lots of fun events, training and skills programs, inviting activities for young people, adults and families, as well as providing important community services that offer guidance and support for people in need.

Console Gaming Yarra E-Champs

Drop-in space

Console Gaming Yarra E-Champs

E-Champs functions as a youth drop-in for the young people aged around 13 - 17 years that have interest in competitive gaming.

The E-Champs mainly focus on fighter type games like Super Smash Bros, Tekken 8, Mortal Kombat and Dragon Ball FighterZ but are always interested in trying new games.

ESL Language Classes

Free English as a Second Language classes every Wednesday from 1:30pm to 2:30pm. Please bring pen, paper and a good attitude.

Table Top Games

Monday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm

Table Top Games

Yarrabilba Gamers Guild (board games, war games, RPG’s) meet every Monday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm to enjoy board games, war games, RPG’s, etc.

All welcome, children to attend with parents.

Keeping Connected

Every Thursday from 10:00am to 11.30am.

Keeping Connected

A great place for over 50’s to enjoy a cuppa, catch up with a friend, make new ones, celebrate special occasions, knit, crochet, board games, table tennis or just do your own thing.

School Holiday Program

Homework Club

Free homework support every Wednesday from 3:00pm to 4:00pm for young people aged 10 – 17 years.

Community Book Swap

Open during office hours Monday to Friday 9:00am to 4.00pm.

The Buzz Community Library is a place to come and swap a book, leave a book or take a book home to enjoy.

Facility Hire

Looking for a venue hire location to host your next class, gathering or client appointment?

At The Buzz, we offer unique spaces for community groups, individuals and businesses to hire between 8:00am – 10:00pm every day.

We love assisting our partners to host successful ongoing and one-off events, which have included religious services, dance classes, performance workshops, community services, tutoring sessions, business seminars and even a wedding!
All room hire is inclusive of chairs and tables, use of kitchenete. Toilet facilities include men, women, disabled and also baby change room. Our laundry can be accessed to assist hirers with cleaning.

All rooms are separately air conditioned. The Buzz is wheelchair and pram accessible. We have ample off street parking.

The Buzz endeavours to be a community ally, ensuring our spaces are affordable for essential community and non-profit services needing a place operate in Yarrabilba.

Large Meeting Room 1/2

Meeting Room 1 and 2 can be hired as one space or can be divided into two rooms. Televisions are mounted on both end walls and can be played simultaneously if required.

Training & Dev Space

The spacious Training and Development Space boasts independent access and a kitchette. Two whiteboards are wall mounted.

Boardroom

The Boardroom is a quiet, comfortable and private space that is generally set as pictured but can be configured with tables separated if required.

The office spaces can be configured in a variety of ways dependent upon your needs.

Kitchen

The light and airy kitchen opens directly onto the breezeway. The two wall mounted ovens are complimented by various small appliances.

Conference Room 1

All of our Conference Rooms include access to multiple tables and chairs as well as a shared kitchenette.

In addition, Conference Room 1 has a dedicated kitchenette within the space.

Conference Room 2 can be hired with Conference Room 3 for a large activity or event. Conference Rooms include access to multiple tables and chairs as well as a shared kitchenette.

We believe that lasting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together to invest in our kids, our health and our neighbours. That’s why, at the Y, strengthening community is our cause. Every day, we work side by side with our neighbours in the community to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to connect, learn, earn and innovate.

Services

The Exchange provides intensive job search sessions, professional development, training, resume writing and direct links to employment opportunities for local residents. Job seekers are provided with information and guidance to help apply for jobs that suits their needs. The training is delivered locally and is tailored to specific vacancies in a wide range of industries including hospitality, construction, business, aged care, disability and more. The Exchange aims to connect recruitment, labour hire agencies, businesses, social enterprises and community groups with individuals.

Emergency Relief
The Emergency Relief Program provides financial and/or material support to Queenslanders in financial crisis. The program is funded by the Government. The Buzz is always here for you. We can provide immediate temporary relief to those who need a hand up, and can also connect you to other community organisations that can further support you.

Youth Space

The Buzz’s Youth Space is dedicated for young people from the local community to be empowered, socialise, have fun and be creative in a safe and welcoming environment through structured and unstructured arts, gaming, cultural and sporting activities.
