Welcome to Ipswich Thriving Seniors, a vibrant program dedicated to helping older adults aged 60 and over, along with First Nations peoples aged 50 and over, thrive in their communities.

Our mission is to empower older Queenslanders to feel more connected, supported, and actively engaged.

Based in Springfield Lakes and reaching across Ipswich, we offer flexible programs, events, and services that celebrate seniors and build age-friendly communities. Our goal is to create age-friendly environments where seniors feel valued, celebrated and connected to their communities.

Join us to connect with others, learn new skills, and stay active, whether you’re in your 50s, 60s, 70s, or beyond.

What's on at Ipswich Thriving Seniors program

We offer weekly activities tailored for seniors, focusing on health and wellbeing, helping you stay active, informed, and connected. Join a community of age-friendly champions and gain the skills to shape better environments for growing, living, working, playing, and aging.

SOCIAL GROUPS

Meet new people and enjoy weekly activities like gardening, bingo, trivia, cooking, or simply having a coffee and chat. There's something for everyone!

EmergencyRedi Workshop

Red Cross EmergencyRedi workshops equip individuals and households with essential emergency preparedness skills, fostering resilience and confidence in the face of disasters. Through our interactive workshop, participants learn how to develop their own EmergencyRedi Plan, understand risks in their communities, and gain practical tools to help themselves and those they care about stay safe.

Maintaining Healthy Hearing

10th September 2026 10:30am - 11:30am | Free lunch provided after the session

Connect Hearing will shine a light on the importance of healthy hearing including the benefits of wearing hearing aids, what to expect during a hearing test, clear up common misconceptions and explore funding and eligibility options. Connect Hearing will also discuss the range of support services available to help you manage your hearing health.

All seniors are invited to join us this October for a vibrant celebration of Seniors Month! Enjoy brand new activities and free classes across a range of locations in Ipswich. Our Seniors Month calendar of activities will be coming soon.

EVENTS & OUTINGS

Bus Trip to Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers

Enjoy a relaxing spring escape as we head to Toowoomba’s world‑famous Carnival of Flowers. FITNESS PROGRAMS
