Welcome to Ipswich Thriving Seniors, a vibrant program dedicated to helping older adults aged 60 and over, along with First Nations peoples aged 50 and over, thrive in their communities.

Our mission is to empower older Queenslanders to feel more connected, supported, and actively engaged.

Based in Springfield Lakes and reaching across Ipswich, we offer flexible programs, events, and services that celebrate seniors and build age-friendly communities. Our goal is to create age-friendly environments where seniors feel valued, celebrated and connected to their communities.

We offer weekly activities tailored for seniors, focusing on health and wellbeing, helping you stay active, informed, and connected. Join a community of age-friendly champions and gain the skills to shape better environments for growing, living, working, playing, and aging.

SOCIAL GROUPS

Meet new people and enjoy weekly activities like gardening, bingo, trivia, cooking, or simply having a coffee and chat. There's something for everyone!

Bus Trip to Suncorp Stadium

Mini Ekka Showcase

Seniors are warmly invited to enjoy the charm and nostalgia of the Ekka at a relaxed, joy‑filled day at the Springfield Lakes Community Centre. Expect all your favourites — games, entertainment, delicious food and drink, showbags and plenty of old‑fashioned fun. Best of all, it’s free. This special celebration also features a vibrant Mini Ekka Showcase, highlighting the creativity of local seniors across a range of categories. From painting and sewing to photography, baking, woodcraft and more, there’s something for every talent — and prizes to be won. If you’d like to share your skills and submit an entry in the showcase, simply follow the link to find out more and register.
